The main goal was to design an English vocabulary learning app that felt less like homework and more like a game. The challenge was to create a system that not only helps users retain new words but also keeps them motivated over time. This meant integrating a reward system, competitive features like duels, and a clean, intuitive UI that works well for both casual learners and highly engaged users.
The UI was designed to be clean, modern, and approachable—appealing to both casual learners and competitive users.
• A clear onboarding flow introduces the coin and duel mechanics early
• Micro-interactions and subtle animations enhance feedback and navigation
• The duel interface emphasizes excitement with countdowns, results screens, and intuitive matching
• Responsive layouts were created for mobile use with scalability in mind
Traditional vocabulary learning tools often fail to keep users motivated and engaged. Many apps provide static flashcards or repetitive drills that feel more like chores than learning experiences. There was a need for a more dynamic and social way to build vocabulary, especially for learners seeking both structure and excitement.
Wordismo introduces a coin-based progression system where users are rewarded for consistency and correct answers. The app also features a competitive duel mode, allowing users to challenge others by investing coins—winner takes the majority. A private duel option adds flexibility for friend-based or small-group learning. These features turn passive studying into an active, strategic game.
The logo was custom-designed to visually represent both the app’s core mechanic and its identity. It combines the motion of swiping vocabulary cards—one of the key interactions in Wordismo—with a stylized “W” shape, symbolizing the app’s name. The result is a clean, minimal mark that captures the idea of dynamic learning through motion and memorability. The logo works across all scales and reflects the product’s modern, gamified learning experience.
